Organic Trade Association (OTA) is a membership-based business association that focuses on the organic business community in North America. OTA's mission is to promote and protect the growth of organic trade to benefit the environment, farmers, the public and the economy.

The National Organic Program (NOP) develops, implements, and administers national production, handling, and labeling standards for organic agricultural products. The NOP also accredits the certifying agents (foreign and domestic) who inspect organic production and handling operations to certify that they meet USDA standards. The Dutch certifier SKAL is an inspection organization for organic production methods. SKAL's mission is to promote the proper indications of products that have been cultivated according to sustainable production methods by means of supervising, testing, inspecting, assessing and certifying them. Why This Name

We pondered.

The name had to arouse curiosity. A fascinating and intriguing name. We wanted to personify the newness, the quality and the embodiment of our blissful teas. We wanted to exemplify that our teas are aimed at achieving higher standards in the consumption and appreciation of authentic teas. The name had to reflect the resurgence, the manifestation.

Tea being a natural drink, is like a god-send to the health benefits of mankind. So the name had to have a correlation to mythology. The teas would be Organic, Flavored and Natural - so the name had to reflect a sense of purity, like an incarnation. The name had to have a character too - something that one could relate to - like an Avatar.

We wanted to say our teas are special and above the ordinary. And we christened her "Avatar Teas". Thank you for your patronization!
