The Avatar Teas history dates back to 1976 when the badaga family settled down in the midst of a tea estate, in the serene slopes of the Nilgiri Hills.

Tea leaf harvest and supply to tea-factories were the prevailing occupation in the seventies and eighties. Avatar Teas has come a long way since then – in the form of acquisitions and in taking up the challenges of Global trade.

Today, the technically sophisticated and Quality driven tea factory is housed in the Temple Tomb hills of the Nilgiris.The construction and installation of the high-tech Japanese tea-machinery was completed at an estimated 1.6 crores (0.35 million dollars). The Avatar crew, including the Tea-maker,Tea-Taster,Tea-technicians,Teacollectors, maintenance, and Administration teams constantly strive to bring you the aroma, flavor and richness of good tea.

The Tea-blending cum packaging unit is the latest addition to our acquisition strategy. One can find a fusion of the best teas of India at the facility – in the form of Chai, Instant, Herbal and numerous other tea concoctions. The unit is assessed at ISO 9001 – 2000 quality level by the tea board of India, the governing body for Indian tea.
